A Charmed Life

With my commute being an hour and a half, I have the luxury of having some down time to read. I bought the book A Charmed Life: Growing Up in Macbeth's Castle by Liza Campbell months ago and now I finally have the time to read it.

This book tells the story of Liza Campbell who was the last child to be born in the Cawdor Castle, the same castle featured in William Shakespeare's Macbeth. Can you imagine, growing up in a castle? Nothing but books and empty fields to entertain you.

While reading the book today, I caught a reference to Lady of Shalott by Lord Alfred Tennyson. An excerpt from the book reads: The poet Fiona Pitt-Kethley wrote a brilliant precis of that interminable poem.

Saw Knight Pass
In Glass,
Left Room
Full of Gloom,
Stole Boat,
Died Afloat.
