There truly is nothing like a Cambridge May Ball; these events are so elegant, so extravagant. I was fortunate enough to attend four May Balls; Somerville-Jesus in Oxford, Hughes Hall, St. John's and St. Edmund's. The only thing I can compare a May Ball to is a party at Jay Gatsby's mansion. If you have seen Baz Luhrmann's film adaptation of Fitzgerald's classic American novel then you have gotten a glimpse of what this past week has been like for me.
