Ely Cathedral

Yesterday some friends and I went to Ely Cathedral to watch the Dowsing Sound Collective. The DSC is a 100-member choir from Cambridge. My friend Eva is part of it, so we went to show support.
I had never been to Ely, which is a mere 12 minute train ride from Cambridge. It was nice to get away for the evening, even though it was just the next town over. Geoff, Jens, Chris, Jen and myself arrived early so we could explore the quaint town. There isn't much in Ely, but it is the perfect little weekend getaway spot. The River Great Ouse flows through the south-eastern boundary of the city so on a hot summer day, the local BoatHouse Pub is a nice place to relax and enjoy a drink!
After dinner we made our way to the cathedral by walking through the park that surrounds it. The park is set on a hill with plenty of trees that provide shade for days like yesterday. Horses and miniature ponies were roaming around inside a gated area that ran through the whole right side of the park. Once we were inside the cathedral we were able to enjoy the likes of Muse, The Lumineers, Moby, and many others.
