Mr. and Mrs. Brooks

The day after Christmas began with an early flight to Indiana, well Atlanta actually, where we were stuck for a few extra hours because of the storm before we finally made it to Indiana around 11pm. My mom, Nanny, Poppy, Ruairi, Kiersten, and I met up with Sarah and Chris at the JW Marriott in Indianapolis (where we stayed during the wedding weekend) for a late dinner before catching a few Zzzz's. The next day Ruairi, Kiersten, and I played in the snow for a bit at Chris' dad's house and then got ready for the rehearsal dinner. After the rehearsal dinner the wedding party went out to a place called The Tin Roof, where we enjoyed live music and conversation.
Friday was spent at The Atrium, the venue where the reception was being held. The bridal party, plus my mom and dad, and Chris' mom, were there to lend a hand in decorating the tables, putting together the centerpieces, and various other last minute details before the wedding.
Saturday was the "big day". It started rather early for me; I had to wake up at 6am to get ready for my 7am hair appointment. Around 8am the other bridesmaids began to arrive to get ready in the suite where we were staying. The photographer arrived around 11am to take a few photos and then around 12:30 we started to make our way over to The Columns (the venue where the ceremony was held). When the ceremony was over the guests made their way to the reception, but the wedding party had to stick around for more photos. All the photos were worth it though because we got a party bus to transport us to the reception. The wedding was absolutely beautiful. My sister looked gorgeous, she found her Prince Charming, and I have a new big brother!
Most of the guests traveled home the next day but my mom and I stayed for a few extra days. Sarah and Chris just moved into their new house a couple weeks before their wedding so my mom wanted to see their new place and help them unpack. Since Monday was New Years Eve we didn't get much unpacking done; instead we went to The Kennel Club with some of Sarah and Chris' friends and then went to their neighbor's house to celebrate the New Year. Tuesday-Thursday was spent unpacking, running errands, going to an Aces Basketball game, and playing with Char (the little girl Sarah babysits). Friday morning we drove back up to Indianapolis and spent some time with Chris' dad, mom, and step-dad as well as Elizabeth and Mailey (my adopted sister and niece). Saturday morning we said our goodbyes, bid the newlyweds some more congratulations and best wishes and then made our way back to California!
